This partnership is stated to be part of Reju’s commitment to creating circular systems that effectively manage fashion waste.

Rematrix works with fashion brands to handle the final stage of textile products’ life cycle, aligning with the impending Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation in Italy and across Europe.

The company promotes the reuse and recycling of textile waste and fosters circular business models through an industrial supply chain, traceability platform, and a network of technology and business partners.

The agreement lays the groundwork for a long-term supply relationship between Reju’s Regeneration Hub and Rematrix. It aims to address the regional post-consumer waste issues and contribute to local solutions and nearshoring opportunities.

Reju CEO Patrik Frisk said: “Rematrix’s ability to manage the entire lifecycle of textile products, from collection to recycling, aligns perfectly with our mission. This alliance not only supports our material sourcing strategy, but also accelerates the industry’s transition to a circular economy.”

Rematrix’s managing partner Innovando will share its expertise in traceability, compliance, and waste optimisation to ensure a reliable supply and adherence to environmental standards from post-production to post-consumption.

Rematrix CEO Enrico Soffiati said: “At Rematrix we believe that collaboration and technological innovation are essential to tackling the challenges of textile waste. Partnering with Reju enables us to equip brands with strategic tools to go beyond EPR requirements and embrace concretely a circular business model.”

He continued: “By combining our expertise in end-of-life textile collection and management with Reju’s regeneration capabilities, we empower brands to take full control of their supply chains and gain a competitive edge in an increasingly sustainability driven market. This partnership lays the foundation for textile companies to evolve their business models towards a circularity that is both environmentally and economically sustainable.”

In November of the prior year, Reju established a partnership with Nouvelles Fibres Textiles (NFT), a French company focused on sourcing and recycling textile waste to promote a circular economy within France.
