Scheduled for 16-17 April at Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the show will feature a special section titled ‘Made in Japan’ that will occupy a freshly designated space at the SugarFactory venue. Attendees can expect to see an array of denim mills and production entities from Japan.
Made in Japan will showcase range of Japanese denim mills and manufacturers such as Big John, ICE, Ideablue, Japan Delivery Service, Kurabo, Kuroki, Rainbow Textiles, San Marino, Showa, and Teijin Frontier.
Kurabo has already participated in the inaugural Kingpins Show in 2004, and San Marino with textile and apparel operations spanning Japan, Italy, China, and ASEAN countries, will be making its debut in the show.
Kingpins has commissioned an oversized denim kimono piece, crafted by Showa, a sustainable denim producer based in Kojima district of Kurashiki, for the show.
The event will feature a panel discussion titled “Key Pieces from Inspiring Wardrobes”, which will be led by Doug Gunn from The Vintage Showroom.
The discussion will include contributions from representatives of the “Made in Japan” exhibitors.
Vivian Wang, who was appointed as the chief executive officer of Kingpins last month said: “Japanese denim has been central to Kingpins since our very first show. We appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of Japanese denim fabric and jeans makers and created a special section within the Kingpins show to highlight the work of a curated selection of companies.”
Following Amsterdam’s event, Kingpins China-Hangzhou is scheduled for 22-23 May 2025 at ADM More.
