The purpose of this alliance is to expedite the product development cycle and improve operational effectiveness. Sun Tekstil is a long-time collaborator of Refabric.

Refabric’s platform promises to consolidate the multifaceted and intricate processes of fashion creation from initial inspiration, research, and trend analysis to design, prototyping, product development, and marketing into a cohesive digital ecosystem. This integration is designed to streamline workflows for fashion professionals.

Through streamlining the design workflow, the platform minimises the need for physical prototypes and aids in pre-emptively filtering out products that may not resonate with consumers, thus conserving both time and materials.

The AI-powered software is designed to transform conceptual ideas into tangible designs and assembles collections that resonate with prevailing trends by synthesising keywords, inspirational imagery, technical sketches, and patterns.

Sun Tekstil board chairperson Elvan Ünlütürk said: “We believe that technology is the future of sustainable design and production. We are keeping up with the fast-paced nature of the fashion world and fully supporting the digital transformation of the fashion and textile industry.

“By integrating AI into our design and collection processes through Refabric, we are accelerating our design processes, filtering, and refining our collections before they go into production. This ensures a more efficient use of our resources and supports sustainability. This investment is a testament to our commitment to digitalisation and sustainability transformation in the industry.”

Refabric co-founder and CEO Begüm Doğru Öztekin underscored the significance of their alliance with Sun Tekstil in fortifying sustainability and promoting digital progress within the fashion domain.

“The projects we have carried out in collaboration with Sun Tekstil showcase the transformative impact of AI in the fashion and textile world,” she said.

Upon completion of the project, where Refabric’s design tools were refined based on input from industry professionals, Sun Tekstil reported a notable decrease in physical sample production, leading to significant savings in both time and cost.

Sun Tekstil said that it creates approximately 1,000 new designs each month and operates five design offices across three countries to meet customer demands.
