This collaboration with FASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE provides Cascale with enhanced capabilities to aid its brand members in their efforts toward sustainability and climate action.
An integral component of this partnership is an intensive eight-week educational programme designed to guide participants through the process of calculating corporate carbon footprints and submitting the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets. This reflects a unified commitment to impactful climate action within the industry.
It follows a pilot programme initiated on 28 October last year, to offer augmented educational support to Cascale’s membership base.
The Decarbonisation Program at Cascale is expected to gain from FASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE’s extensive educational resources, bolstering member abilities in emission reduction. Following the incorporation of SBTs into Cascale’s membership prerequisites in 2023, over 60% of its corporate members have either established or are in the process of establishing SBTs or science-aligned targets (SATs). These targets are essential for devising effective decarbonisation strategies and minimising emissions.
Cascale’s alliance with FASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE is instrumental in propelling forward its ambition for 80% adoption of SBTs or SATs among its corporate members. This group encompasses brands, retailers, holding companies, third-party retailers, and manufacturers.
“The climate crisis is here, and fashion’s supply chain feels it every day. There’s no time to waste. That’s why we’re excited to partner with FASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE to accelerate the adoption of science-based targets across the industry. The need for clear, measurable climate action has never been more urgent. By helping our brand and retailer members better understand and commit to these targets, we can make meaningful progress and drive the real, lasting change this moment demands,” noted Colin Browne, chief executive officer at Cascale.

By GlobalDataFASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE launched in 2022 with a mission to heighten the fashion sector’s engagement with climate-related challenges. The initiative is spearheaded by the ABOUT YOU Group, YOOX NET-A-PORTER, and Zalando in conjunction with Quantis.
It gives fashion brands knowledge on carbon footprint quantification and target setting consistent with climate science. Since its inception, more than 85% of participating brand partners have reported enhanced comprehension of climate issues and SBT setting for Scope 3 emission reductions.
Recently ASOS, BOOZT, and Selfridges Group became new members of FASHION LEAP FOR CLIMATE. This expansion allows them to extend invitations to hundreds of fashion brands within their collective networks to join the climate education programme — thereby magnifying its impact.
