regenagri’s programme is set to provide a financial incentive for farmers and growers that achieve positive environmental outcomes through its certification.
As detailed by Franco Costantini, CEO of regenagri, this carbon insetting scheme builds upon the organisation’s established certification framework, presenting an opportunity for agricultural producers to financially benefit from the environmental improvements implemented on their farms.
By 2025, regenagri anticipates that its insetting programme will have expanded to encompass 1.5m acres of farmland and will have created over 600,000 carbon insetting credits.
The programme is accessible to all farming operations and supply chains currently holding regenagri certification.
“We’re pleased to announce an initial group of nine producer organisations across the USA, Ivory Coast, Türkiye, Brazil, Pakistan and India have joined our carbon insetting programme, turning their regenerative practices across 871,827 acres into an opportunity for additional financial returns,” Franco Costantini stated.
These groups represent a spectrum of regenagri -certified entities, ranging from individual farms to smallholder collectives and cooperatives. They cultivate a variety of crops such as cotton, coffee, nuts, soybeans, sugar, and cereals.

By GlobalDataCostantini explained: “As part of the regenagri annual certification process, farms undergo annual third-party audits to validate their greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon reduction data, according to approved methodologies and protocols including the GHG Protocol and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) principles.”
Moreover, the programme allows supply chain entities to decarbonise their operations by purchasing carbon insetting units directly from the source farms. This ensures tangible impact and direct investment into sustainable practices.
The companies registered in the programme are as follows:
- Africa: Societe d’Exploitation Cotonniere – Olam Agri
- Türkiye: Agrita Tarım Gıda Hayvancılık Sanayi ve Ticaret
- US: Quarterway Cotton Growers and Hardwick Planting Company
- India: Solidaridad Network Asia -Bemda Dam Farmer Producer Company and Orgohills Farmer Producer Company, Amiha Agro, Pratham Organic Society
- Brazil: Coocacer — Cooperativa dos Cafeicultores do Cerrado de Araguari e Região
- Spain: Greenpods
With the growing demand for eco-friendly sustainable textiles, Mahesh Ramakrishnan of Olam Agri (Ivory Coast) highlights that the insetting programme establishes his company as a forward-thinking leader within the cotton textile industry.
“By embedding carbon reduction directly into Olam Agri’s supply chain, this localised approach drives measurable environmental, social, and economic benefits. It empowers farmers, enhances community resilience, and restores ecosystems, creating a holistic model for sustainability,” Ramakrishnan remarked.
Amiha Agro director Amitabh Singh added: “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to enhancing soil health, increasing biodiversity, and creating long-term value for our farmers and stakeholders.”
Basak Erdem from Agrita (Türkiye) shared her enthusiasm about joining the programme which aligns with the regenerative methods implemented since 2020.
“We are delighted to join the regenagri insetting programme to help fight against climate change and increase the value of the cotton our farmers produce,” Basak Erdem stated.
