The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.16% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.6% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 1.6% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s apparel industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Amazon posted 1,475 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 30.42% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 308 jobs and a 10.2% drop. Dollar Tree with 226 IT jobs and NIKE with 71 jobs, recorded an 11200% growth and a 1.43% growth, respectively, while eBay recorded a decline of 38.24% with 42 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.79%, down by 17.76% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 30.13% share, registered a decline of 20.13% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 20.07% share, down 11.57% over August 2022.
