June 2022 has seen a decrease of 14.34% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 13.41% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.4% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 62.38% in June 2022, a 59.69% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.33% in June 2022, marking a 53.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.67% in June 2022, a 44.32% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 64.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s apparel industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 192 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 73.84% over the previous month, followed by NIKE with 32 jobs and a 146.15% growth. Target with 30 IT jobs and Coles Group with 24 jobs, recorded a 14.29% drop and a 31.43% drop, respectively, while JD recorded a 25.81% decline with 23 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s apparel industry
China commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 28.81% share in June 2022, a 2.54% increase over May 2022. India featured next with a 24.76% share, down 83.41% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 12.14% share, a drop of 35.44% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.9%, down by 54.56% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.86% share, registered a decline of 19.77% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10% share, down 85.21% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.24%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
