European fashion retailer C&A will offer selected items on Amazon’s German website Amazon.de, with the Dutch, French, Italian and Spanish websites following soon, the retailer said. The C&A assortment available on Amazon Fashion will include essential collections for women, men and children as well as selected fashion items.
Joris van Rooy, chief digital officer at C&A Europe said: “Amazon is becoming an increasingly important fashion destination for consumers in Europe. It is important for us that we serve consumers and help them find the best of C&A, especially when their journey starts with Amazon Fashion.”
By partnering with Amazon Fashion, C&A hopes to continue the expansion of its online presence as an important part of its omnichannel strategy.
Last year, C&A proposed a ‘modernisation’ of its European business to streamline its operations. At the time C&A said it believed the new operations plans, which also included significant investments in digital solutions, would ensure it was prepared to serve its customers in future.
The company explained the pandemic had a significant impact on all retailers, including C&A, and believed a blended digital and offline approach would be critical moving forward.
Earlier this year, C&A Europe announced its subsidiary, clothing manufacturer Canda International planned to close operations due to the decline in formalwear since the pandemic.
