Former president and COO Andreas assumed the role on 11 August, taking the reins from Gary Selwyn at a time when the company is focused on growth and commercialising its EMPEL technology platform with new brand new licensees.
The company’s EMPEL technology is already being used by outdoor apparel brands Jack Wolfskin, Marmot, and Black Diamond.
It is designed to offer water repellent finishes that deliver high-performance and durability and eliminate toxic chemicals, water usage, and pollution.
The company explains the technology is highly sustainable and states its EMPEL treatment ranks among the highest water repellency and longest-lasting protection on the market.
“This is a fantastic time for our technology which couples superior performance with our PFC-free chemistry. We have seen a resurgence of interest in our Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish over the last several months and the market will see GTT signing new licensees as well as new brand customers in apparel and other markets. We have added new talent to the GTT team and we are poised to successfully handle the increased volume of business,” Andreas says.
Zach Jonasson, an early investor in GTT and managing partner at Phoenix Venture Partners adds: “David’s extensive leadership, deep industry knowledge, and solid track record as a top executive will propel GTT into this next phase of growth.”
