Italian fashion company Benetton Group has named Massimo Renon as its new CEO.
Renon will join Benetton next month from eyewear maker Marcolin Group, where he has servied as CEO since 2017.
Benetton Group said with his arrival at the company, Renon’s aim will be to implement the business relaunch process started by chairman Luciano Benetton in 2018.
The group has been without a CEO since 2017, according to an article published by Reuters. Marco Airoldi stepped down as CEO of the company in May of that year.
Renon began his career at sporting goods retailer Giacomelli Sport, then went on to eyewear maker Luxottica Group. In 2010 he joined sports car manufacturer Ferrari. Renon subsequently moved back to the eyewear sector, first in Safilo Group, then in Kering, where he took part in the establishment of its eyewear division.
In a statement, Marcolin Group said its board of directors and Renon have “mutually agreed” to terminate their contractual relationship with effect from 14 April.
