The British Fashion Council and Harper’s Bazaar magazine have joined forces to establish the BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation, aimed at fostering collaboration between fashion and the arts.
The new UK organisation will work with fashion and film, music and art, aiming to highlight London’s position as a leading creative capital.
The Foundation has already announced a partnership with BAFTA to bring together film and fashion talent, and is now developing a music strategy in association with Sony Music.
This will include a series of biannual collectors edition compact discs entitled The Collection – London Fashion Week, overseen by different designers.
The Fashion Arts Foundation will be run by a committee of trustees, chaired by Harper’s Bazaar UK editor Lucy Yeomans, which will draw up plans to celebrate fashion and the visual arts in 2012.
